Football career

When He was in Bukyung High School, He was expected to be the future of the Korean football with Choi Tae-Uk. In 2002, He scored seven targets in K-League and he succeeded to be in the World Cup Entry. During the 2002 World Cup, He gaved tall impressions to the European scouters. After the World Cup, Lee shifted to Real Sociedad of Spain, becoming the first Korean to play in the Spanish La Liga. However, afterwards a season of mediocre plays, Lee was shifted on lend to fellow Spanish side Numancia, ago returning to Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i of South Korea's K-League.

Though Lee stringed Ulsan amid the season, his performance proved to be priceless to Ulsan's victory as the heroes of the 2005 season with a hat-trick in the first leg of the league finals. He subsequently was dubbed the K-League's Most Valuable Player on December 28, 2005. In the 2006 World Cup, he scored South Korea's first target with a free-kick against Togo in a 2-1 win. During 07/08 Summer market, Lee transferred to Feyenoord but he malfunctioned to adjust to Holland. July 2008, Feyenoord officially broadcast that Lee's lend to Korean powerside Suwon Samsung Bluewings for 1 year deal. But he malfunctioned to have good plays in Suwon and had dissensions with the coaching staffs. He was seceded from K-League via Suwon.

After minority months, Suwon liberated him and on 26 February 2009, He subleased to Chunnam Dragons from Suwon Samsung until 31 July 2009.On 13 June 2009, He contracted with Chunnam Dragons. However in the final week of June, 2009, the burden of confidential contract disclosed. Feyenoord attempted to transfer Lee to Al Nassr and he had dissensions with Chunnam Dragons and he was seceded from K-League via the club. It was the second time. His troubles are fleeing from Saudi Arabia whereas motionless on contract with Al Nassr. He stringed Omiya shortly.

Personal life

He originated dating Korean actress Kim Ji-Yoo in 2005. She won the name of Miss Korea in 2001. At one point, rumours surfaced that he intended to her, but he subsequent refused these, phrase he wasn't thinking approximate wedding in the near future. They snapped upward in August 2006.After this, he dated with a Korean performer Shim Eun Jin, whoever was once a member of Baby V.O.X.. However, They also snapped upward in May 2008.
